Tony Simpson (director of Kiwi Flyer movie) has reviewed all the videos and decided to show his top five choices at the premiere on 23 Aug then announce the winner.

The following video entries will be invited to the premier at the Theatre Royal.

DERBY ON FILM:

Grab your camera or any other digital device and capture the thrills and spills of the Robertsons Trolley Derby on Saturday 17 March, 2012 in Nelson, NZ.  Then enter our new DERBY ON FILM competion.

The Robertsons Trolley Derby is to be the main subject matter of your video and videos may only be submitted by uploading your file to YouTube and emailing secretary@nelsontrolleyclub.co.nz the link to your video.

The deadline for links to be emailed to us is April 18th, 2012.

Send the link to your video, your name, address and phone number to secretary@nelsontrolleyclub.co.nz with the subject "Robertson's Trolley Derby Video Contest."

DERBY ON FILM OFFICIAL RULES

 

 

 

1. HOW TO ENTER: Make a video production between 1 minute and 4 minutes and upload it to your YouTube channel. Email secretary@nelsontrolleyclub.co.nz with the link to the uploaded video and your name, address, phone number and email address.  Deadline for your link to be emailed to us is 18 April, 2012. No in appropriate material will be considered.  You may be any age and involve more than one person.  There is a limit of three entries per person or group. By entering your video in the contest you give the Nelson Trolley Club Inc permission to post the video on our website and use for other promotional purposes.
 
2. JUDGING: Tony Simpson, director of the Kiwi Flyer movie filmed in Nelson in 2011 will judge the video competition.  All videos will be judged based on the following criteria:  50% - Originality and Creativity and 50% - Production Value (Lighting -Does the subject or visuals have enough light?; Sound & Music -Can we hear and understand the dialogue? Does the music/soundtrack enhance the content?; Image -Can we see the subject & other images? Are they too blurry or shaky?)
 
In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest score in "Originality and Creativity" will be selected as the winner. The winner will be notified by phone and/or email.
 
3. PRIZE: Tickets to the Kiwi Flyer Movie Premier at the Theatre Royal in 2012 plus the Kiwi Flyer Movie trophy presented by Tony Simpson in person during the premier programme after the movie.  The winning video and the best of the other entries will screen after the premiere on a large TV screen during presentations and drinks and will be mentioned in Nelson Trolley Club Inc publications and publicity. The winner's name/s will be made available by 8 June, 2012.
 
4. COMPLIANCE: All entries must be original works that have never been previously posted, and must not infringe on any third party rights. You may use content from additional days but MUST include content from the actual Robertson's Trolley Derby held on Saturday 17 March, 2012 in Nelson, NZ.  By entering the contest, the entrant gives the Nelson Trolley Club Inc the right to use, or post the entry without further compensation. The winning entrants assign all copyrights to the Nelson Trolley Club Inc. By entering the contest and/or accepting a prize, the entrant grants permission to sponsors and their agencies to use winners name/s and likeness for purposes of advertising, without further compensation to entrant.  The prize is non-transferable.
 
5. TECHNICAL: Entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of the judge. The Nelson Trolley Club Inc is not responsible for lost, late, or electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by sponsor or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof.
