2014 Mitre10 Corporate Challenge
The Nelson Trolley Club introduces a new opportunity for local businesses to get involved in an iconic Nelson event, the Robertson's Trolley Derby.
The idea behind the Challenge is to have 12 identical trolleys race against each other during the derby with a final to be held to find the fastest Corporate Team in Nelson.
The Trolley Club has designed a trolley very much along the lines of a Formula 1 racing car. The Club will build the trolley for you up to the point where it is delivered to you so that you can paint it with your own corporate colours and logo.
We thought it would be great fun to have businesses challenging each other to enter and win on the day. A great way to encourage your employees to get involved with a challenge outside of work and to have a fun day with the family at the annual derby.
We have also come up with a range of prices displayed below to try and suit all situations.

This is an example of the trolley being tested on an undisclosed Nelson road.
WARNING: Driver not included.
You will need to supply your own dare devil driver to race your trolley at the derby.

The idea behind the Mitre10 Corporate Challenge is that the racing is to be as close as possible and that is why we have a designed the trolley and why the Rules do not allow any major structural changes to the trolley.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Improve the fit of the tires.
- Paint and sticker as per drawing below
- Install wheel bearings spacers. ( but not new bearings )
- Close in the wheels
- Include a windscreen
- Fully enclose the driver in plexi or plastic to improve the aerodynamics
- You MUST include your trolley number in the 3 areas identified on your trolley
WHAT YOU CAN'T DO
- Inflate the tyres to more than 35PSI (disregard the 65PSI on the side of the tyre. During race day they will heat up and blow in the hot sun and that will be the end of your racing for the day.
- No sharp protrusions
- No major structural changes to the design
- Paint over the sponsors labels on the 4 wings
